Nisreen Mansour al Forgani is a pretty 19-year-old who was a serial killer for Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
Shackled to her bed in a heavily guarded room at the Matiga military hospital in Tripoli, she admitted to London's Daily Mail that she had executed as many as 11 suspected rebel prisoners in the days leading up to the fall of the Libyan capital last week. She shot them in cold blood at point-blank range.

‘I killed the first one, then they would bring another one up to the room,’ Nisreen said. ‘He would see the body on the floor and look shocked. Then I would shoot him too. I did it from about a metre away.’

One of thousands of girls and young women recruited by Gaddafi’s all-female militias, Nisreen is now a prisoner of the rebels and in fear of her life.
Nisreen claims – and her doctors and even some of the rebel fighters believe her – that she had to shoot under great duress. She also says that she was sexually abused by senior military figures, one of whom was the commander of the elite Tripoli brigade tasked with protecting Gaddafi himself. ‘I told them [the rebels] what I did,’ she said. ‘They are angry. I do not know what will happen to me now."

Yoandri Hernandez Garrido's nickname comes from the six perfectly formed fingers on each of his hands and the six impeccable toes on each foot.Hernandez is proud of his extra digits and calls them a blessing, saying they set him apart and enable him to make a living by scrambling up palm trees to cut coconuts and posing for photographs in this eastern Cuban city popular with tourists.
Extra digits: Yoandri Hernandez Garrido, 37, known as 'Twenty-Four' shows his 12 fingers in Baracoa, Guantanamo province, Cuba
Extra digits: Yoandri Hernandez Garrido, 37, known as 'Twenty-Four' shows his 12 fingers in Baracoa, Guantanamo province, Cuba

One traveller paid $10 for a picture with him, Hernandez said, a bonanza in a country with an average salary of just $20 a month.
'It's thanks to my 24 digits that I'm able to make a living, because I have no fixed job,' Hernandez said.

Known as polydactyly, Hernandez's condition is relatively common, but it's rare for the extra digits to be so perfect.
Anyone who glanced quickly at his hands would be hard-pressed to notice anything different unless they paused and started counting.
Hernandez said that as a boy he was visited by a prominent Cuban orthopaedist who is also one of Fidel Castro's doctors, and he declared that in all his years of travel he had never seen such a case of well-formed polydactyly.
'He was very impressed when he saw my fingers,' said Hernandez, who is the only one in his family to be born with extra digits.
In a part of the world where people's physical traits are often the basis for nicknames - even unflattering ones like 'fatty' or 'shorty' - 'veinticuatro' ('twenty-four' in English) is not an insult but rather a term of endearment, and Hernandez, now 37, said his uniqueness has made him a popular guy.
He has a 10-year-old son with a woman who now lives in Havana, and his current girlfriend is expecting his second child.
'Since I was young, I understood that it was a privilege to have 24 digits. Nobody has ever discriminated against me for that,' he said.   'On the contrary, people admire me and I am very proud. I have a million friends, I live well.'

Most wanted: Animal lovers were shocked when an order was given to shoot Yvonne on sight and offered to buy her from the farmer

They seek her here, they seek here there, but those Bavarians still can't track down Yvonne the elusive cow and now she's popping up to taunt them on camera.
The fugitive, dubbed the Scarlet Pimpernel of the bovine world, escaped from her farm in Zangberg, Germany, moments before she was due for a trip to the abattoir.
Having successfully evaded capture for 92 days, Yvonne has now been spotted on a CCTV camera happily chewing the cud in a field of maize.
A recent attempt to lure her out of the Bavarian forest where she is hiding failed because the bull, with which they were trying to woo her - described by its owner as the George Clooney of the bull world - turned out to have been castrated.
The team then tried tethering her sister, Waltraut, to a tree in the hope that a friendly face would bring her out of hiding but that too proved unsuccessful.
She was spotted last weekend when when she was in a near miss with a police car after which an order was issued to hunters to shoot her on sight.
But this infuriated Germany's animal lovers who offered to buy her from the farmer and the shoot-on-sight order has been rescinded.
German tabloid newspaper, Bild, has put up a €10,000 reward for Yvonne's safe return and they claimed an 11-year-old schoolboy had found a fresh hoofprint in woods near his home.
Hans Wintersteller, the owner of a local animal sanctuary and co-ordinator of Operation Yvonne, told a reporter: 'We know roughly where she is.
'But she always seems to keep on step ahead of us.'
Experts now believe that when she first escaped she was taken in by a herd of deer who taught her how to evade capture by foraging at night and lying low during the day.
One of the more desperate attempts to get hold of Yvonne was to try using an animal psychic to contact her and tell her to come home.
As those who want to save her and those who want to eat her race to find the cow, her fame continues to grow and one newspaper described her as a 'freedom fighter'.

Gaddafi condoleezza rice 08 25 2011
Muammar Gaddafi with Condoleezza Rice in 2008.

Rebels looting Muammar Gaddafi's compound in Tripoli have found a photo album devoted to Condoleezza Rice.
The Libyan leader has a well-known affection for Rice, and the strange photo album features page after page of pictures of her, many of them close-ups, reports MSNBC, which obtained photos of the album.

Rice visited Libya in 2008 during the brief period that saw Gaddafi's international reputation rehabilitated, and Washington restore diplomatic relations with the former enemy state. During her stay in Tripoli, Rice shared a late-night dinner with Gaddafi to break the Ramadan fast, the Washington Post says.

“His [Gaddafi's] face lit up when he saw Rice," the Post wrote at the time.

Gaddafi raved about Rice in a 2007 interview with Al Jazeera.
"I support my darling black African woman," Gaddafi said. "I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders ... Leezza, Leezza, Leezza. ... I love her very much. I admire her and I'm proud of her because she's a black woman of African origin."

The chancellor of the University of Northern Virginia has resigned claiming that, “Discussions of my personal life have become a distraction for students and friends of UNVA at a time when we need to focus on more significant issues.”
And by “personal life,” David Lee was referring to his enthusiasm for assorted bondage and S&M activities, not to mention a recent online ad in which he and his female partner sought “attractive submissive” women who “wish to be part of our poly family. Ideally you will consider yourself a slave or a sub with slave tendencies.”
Lee’s ad included risqué photos showing him and Regina Biscoe in action (along with shots of their suburban dungeon). As seen above, one image showed the shirtless 64-year-old Lee flexing in a mirror. Two other pictures showed him brandishing a flame near a naked woman wearing a bondage mask.

The Great House on Necker Island in flames
A romantic getaway for Kate Winslet and her boyfriend Louis Dowler to Richard Branson's private Necker Island ended in danger and drama when the house where they were staying was hit by lightning and burst into flames.
Kate and her boyfriend plus her two children Sam and Mia were among the 20 people staying in the property. All escaped unharmed.

The Hollywood actress turned real-life heroine during the ordeal by scooping up Sir Richard's 90-year-old mother into her arms and carrying her outside to safety.

Speaking about Kate's commendable actions, the Virgin Tycoon told
ITN news: "It was she who carried my mother out of the house. She was great. She swept her up into her arms and got them out of the house as fast as possible."

"She said it was like being on a film set where you’re waiting for the words 'cut' but they just don’t come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation."

A winery on Long Island has introduced two new wines to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.
The wines, produced by Lieb Family Cellars, are a 9/11 barrel- fermented Memorial Commemorative Merlot and a 9/11 Memorial Commemorative Chardonnay, described as having a dominant flavor of fresh green apples and "finishing with a toasty vanilla flavor."
They each sell for $19.11 a bottle if you buy directly from the winery but they will cost more in stores.
The grapes for the wine were grown 90 miles from the site of the World Trade Center and the winery plans to give 6% to 10% of the proceeds from the sale of them to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
For those who try to keep their wine buying under $10 a bottle, the Lieb Family Cellars offers a less expensive bottle of wine called the September Mission Merlot. It costs $9.11 a bottle and the winery donates 91.1 cents of every bottle to the September's Mission foundation.

It is the parking space which would challenge even the most skilled of drivers.
And quite what bungling council workers thought when they were painting up this disabled bay remains a mystery.
Planted squarely in the middle of the space outside the house of Rebecca Fairchild is a rather inconveniently placed lamppost.
The most ludicrous parking bay in Britain: Rebecca Fairchild with son Joshua, who suffers from epilepsy and autism, in the bay with a lamppost in the middle   The mother-of-two, 38, had campaigned for ten months to get the bay installed.
She was concerned that her disabled son Joshua, five, who suffers from severe autism and epilepsy, could be knocked down as he got out of her car.
Staff at Essex County Council finally caved in and agreed to convert a stretch of pavement into a disabled parking bay - only for bungling contract workers to paint it around a lamp post.

Mrs Fairchild said: 'It's just ridiculous. We're totally mortified by the whole thing. Who in their right mind would put a disabled bay around a lamp post?
'This has been very stressful for us because people just keep pointing and laughing and stopping and taking pictures - but its not a joke to us."

Healthy height: Keen gardener Eve Fielding, of Kent, was shocked to see her sunflower grow to 23ftThis enormous sunflower has been nicknamed the ‘Eiffel Flower’ after growing to a whopping 23ft - and is on course to break a world record.

The huge plant has grown from a humble seed planted in the garden of the home of Eve Fielding, in Margate, Kent, reports London's Daily Mail.

Eve, 48, had sown a handful of seeds as part of a light-hearted competition with her four-year-old granddaughter, and planted this one as a spare. She watered it every day but didn't give it any special attention and says she expected it to grow to around 12ft, just like the dozens of other flowers she's planted over the years.

But to her amazement it soon shot past the height of her other blooms - and shows no sign of stopping.
It now towers well above the mother-of-two, who is 5ft 2in, and could even break the world record of 26ft 4in.
Eve said: ‘It's enormous - I really can't believe it's grown this tall.

‘I planted a few seeds with my granddaughter so we could have a race to grow the biggest one."

Provocative: Lindasy Lohan poses holding a knife and blood in a new photograph from her photographer friend Tyler Shields

We've seen Lindsay Lohan in a lot of unflattering poses but they've been mostly candid paparazzi shots taken while the actress was under the influence of drink or drugs.  This time the 25-year-old actress is deliberately portraying herself in a controversial light in a picture taken by her friend and collaborator, photographer Tyler Shields.

Wearing a revealing black bra top and with her hair dark and pulled back, the actress has fake blood around her mouth and on her body and hands as she stares directly into the camera.
She is brandishing a large knife covered in fake blood with streaks of red also spattered on the wall behind her.
It's not the first time Lohan has collaborated with Shields, having posed for numerous shoots including with a gun in her mouth for his book The Dirty Side of Glamour last year.
The photographer pays tribute to the actress in an accompanying interview saying; 'She’s just so daring. She’s a character in herself and she is very good at it.
'I shoot her a different way than I think anybody else shoots her, and I think she knows that and I know that and I think we compliment each other very well.'

Going hell for leather: The first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises has now been released
It's a huge jump from the Princess Diaries, but Anne Hathaway is fulfilling a long held dream by portraying Catwoman in the upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises.
The 28-year-old actress, who is following in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry, who have both portrayed the feisty feline, wears a black leather catsuit, a pair of black goggles and lashings of red lipstick in the first official photograph, released by Warner Bros.
"Everybody used to ask me if I always dreamed about being a princess but I wish I'd said the truth which was, 'No, I wanted to be Catwoman,'" says Anne. "The first time I put the catsuit on it was a dream come true. I felt fierce, I felt fun, really really lucky and sexy, too. You feel pretty sexy in a catsuit."

Previous incarnations: Halle Berry as Catwoman in the 2004 film and Michelle Pfeiffer in the role in 1992 movie Batman Returns

Bikini no-go: Sandy McMillin says she was kicked out of Wall-Mart for wearing this bikini top and will now sue for discrimination

This is Sandy McMillin who says she was told to leave a Wal-Mart store because she was wearing a bikini top.
She was in a Wal-Mart in Eugene, Oregon when she claims a staff member confronted her and claimed she may be violating health regulations.
Temperatures had hit 90f and Ms McMillin, who had popped in to buy some sour cream, chips and coffee creamer, was wearing the tiny turquoise garment to keep cool.
She had actually bought the $10 bikini top from the same Wal-Mart store.
‘I was horrified,’ the 51-year-old told KVAL News. ‘It’s wrong. If you don't like the way someone looks, don’t look at them.
‘I am embarrassed. I hadn't done anything obnoxious or outlandish.’
Ms McMillin, who walks with a cane after sustaining injuries in motorcycle crashes, is now planning to sue for discrimination and her attorney suggested she may have been unfairly treated because she is disabled.
But a spokeswoman for the Arkansas-based retail giant disputed Ms McMillin’s version of events, saying that she was ‘verbally abusive’ to other shoppers after they complained about her appearance.

Denial: Wall-Mart says McMillin was verbally abusive and deny she was told to put on a shirt or get out

Eerie: It's as if Harry is channelling Freddie Mercury in this remake of Queen's second album cover

It's Harry as Freddie Mercury in this remake of Queen's second album cover.

They might be best known as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, but now the Potter cast are taking on different alter egos on spoof album covers.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are just three of the Harry Potter actors who have found themselves superimposed on the covers of classic albums, including Michael Jackson's Bad and David Bowie's Aladdin Sane.

Using images of the actors from the most recent m ovie, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II, a website has transformed them into subjects including Pink Floyd, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones and Queen.

One of the covers shows Dobby the house elf as one of the four members of Queen.
In another, Voldemort's army star as The Ramones

Professor Snape, played by Alan Rickman, stars as Elvis on the spoof cover of his record '68 Comeback, complete with leather jacket and guitar.

Coco Chanel, the 20th Century's most famous fashion designer, was a symbol of elegance and good taste, but she was also a drug-taking bi-sexual who had a torrid love affair with a Nazi spy, according to a new book.   Lisa Chaney's forthcoming biography, Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life, lays bare hard evidence of the fashion maven's use of opiates, as well as new insights into her private life and multiple love affairs.
Proof, indeed: Coco Chanel An Intimate Life claims to prove that Ms Chanel relied on opiates, enjoyed lesbian dalliances and had a Nazi spy lover
Women's Wear Daily says the book proves that one of her many lovers, Hans Günther von Dincklage, spied for the Nazis throughout the Second World War.
The publicist for publishers Viking, says: "Whether Chanel was aware of this is unknown, but after that war she lived in neutral Switzerland for a while, to avoid any proceedings against her."
In the book, due for release in November, Ms Chaney uses newly discovered letters as well as documents from the Swiss Federal Archives to quell any doubt as to the truth of some of the less palatable aspects of Ms Chanel's rags-to-riches story and colourful lifestyle.
Viking says: "Her numerous liaisons, whose poignant and tragic details have eluded all previous biographers, were the very stuff of legend.
"Witty and mesmerizing, she became muse, patron, or mistress to the century's most celebrated artists, including Picasso, Dalí, and Stravinsky."

UFO? Sonar scans taken while searching for a century-old shipwreck on the ocean floor between Sweden and Finland showed up this fuzzy outline   No, I don't believe it either, but scientists are claiming that this mysterious circle on a grainy sonar scan is finally evidence that Earth has been visited by aliens.
Researchers believe the fuzzy outline is a flying saucer that ended up 300ft down on the ocean floor between Sweden and Finland.
Scans taken while they were searching for a century-old wreck showed up the shape against the dirt. The ocean exploration team which found it claims that the earth around the craft has been scarred, suggesting it has tried to move around.
Lead researcher Peter Lindberg also suggested that another explanation could be that it was 'a new Stonehenge'.
Some have even suggested it resembles the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars series, with its distinctive front forks and round shape.
Newspapers in Sweden have put the story on their front pages and asked if this is really the first sign of extra-terrestrial life.
The shape was found at the bottom of the Gulf of Bothnia during a search for a sunken wreck which contained several cases of champagne.
