Flight is a movie that will put anyone off both flying and drinking. Although the movie lets itself down with a pat and sappy ending, Denzel Washington turns in an Oscar-worthy performance as an alcoholic airline pilot who loves to get utterly, hopelessly, leglessly smashed on cocaine, vodka and beer.
Consequently he is shown downing huge amounts of Stolichnaya, Smirnoff and Absolut vodkas and Budweiser beer, much to the chagrin of Budweiser brewer Anheuser-Busch.
The brewer has complained to Paramount Pictures asking them to remove the famous Budweiser logo from the movie when it is released on DVD and TV
"We would never condone the misuse of our products and have a long history of promoting responsible drinking," said Anheuser-Busch vice president Rob McCarthy pompously.
Paramount have refused to comment and many think Anheuser-Busch's complaints will do the brewer more harm than good and they'd have been better off keeping quiet.

  1. I don't think it could put certain people off of flying and drinking...(and definitely not flight attendants (^o^) and I heard from someone very small, wise and astute that the ending was a "life lesson." As for the beer company, just more free advertising and attention.
