It's that time of year when voters are conscientiously filling in their ballots for the plethora of awards shows which include, of course, the Golden Globes, the Oscars and.......the Razzies, the Golden Raspberry awards which salute the worst of Hollywood.
So while critics are preparing their usual end-of-year Ten Best lists I'd like to propose a few nominees for the worst films and actors of the year.
Top of the list has to be that dreadful non-comedy Blended which starred Adam Sandler who, coincidentally, also tops Forbes magazine's list of the most overpaid actors. Then comes Transcendence, the nonsensical science-fiction "drama" which starred Johnny Depp as a scientist whose consciousness survived his body's death and is uploaded to the Internet via satellite. Yes, it was as ridiculous as it sounds. The executive producer was Chris Nolan, whose Interstellar could also qualify for a Razzie in my opinion.
And of course, there is Expendables 3 starring that old Razzie stalwart Sylvester Stallone leading a team of wooden actors who include Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
So many bad movies....Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Single Mom's Club, Haunted House 2 and Men Women and Children, which features yet another bad performance by Adam Sandler.
The Razzie nominations will be announced on January 14 and the least anticipated awards show in Hollywood, particularly by those who are nominated, will be held on February 21, when no winners are expected to attend.
